I’m HOME … In Key West!
Well its official! I can say that I am a resident of Key West now! All of my boxes are unpacked and I have an address! Somehow things always seem to work out just the way they need too. If you would have asked me last Sunday as I was packing the last of my belongings into my car, I am not sure what I would have told you. I started driving down here without a job and a place to stay.
Now I have a very cute little apartment – cottage house. Palm trees in my back yard is all a girl can ask for!

The Half Shell, At the Pier – St. Simons, GA
After a very LONG day of driving was happy to be enjoying the sunset at the pier in St, Simons, GA. My friend and I found a place called The Half Shell and we decided to eat there for dinner! Good choice! After eating an entire pound of fresh GA Shrimp as our appetizer. We finally ordered our main course. I think it was a Crab Cake kind of night! I had the Crab Cake BLT with Cheesy Grits. Yes I said Cheesy Grits, those were amazing!
Overall it was a wonderful dinner and I recommend the Grandma’s Tea made with Sweet Tea Vodka!

King and Prince Resort – St. Simons GA
Show me the SUN! I think I was kept in the Chicago weather for too long! A little sun can go a very long way with me! I am currently staying at The King and Prince resort in St. Simons, GA. I stayed here once before and everything about this cute little island is still the same! Beautiful Ocean views, Family Friendly, Coastal Living. Weather you are looking for a place to stay for a weekend getaway or somewhere to spend those cold winter months away from Old Man Winter this is the place. Located about an hour south of Savannah, GA and about 5 hours from Atlanta, GA. I personally drove from Atlanta and it was a nice drive not a lot of traffic on the road and it can be done in 1 day and get here early enough to have a nice relaxing dinner! Last time I was here I stayed in the historic main building, this time I am in a Villa that is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with a full kitchen, living room and balcony with a great view of the ocean.
The things I look for in a hotel are the small little touches that can make your stay that much more relaxing. Everything from the small little mints they leave on your pillow to having a washer and dryer and a wine bottle opener in the kitchen. You would not believe the hotels I have stayed in over the years that don’t have those things. Sometime I even throw a wine bottle opener into my suit case since I always end up buying one if the hotel doesn’t supply it. Also each room has decorative pieces there for nothing more that pure enjoyment.

Drury Inn Hotels – Bowling Green, KY
Over all this was a pretty clean hotel if you are looking for something right off the highway and just need a place to sleep. Other than that don’t expect to much … I was irritated to find that the TV remote didn’t work. Dead batteries maybe? I was to tired to care at that point and just ended up going to sleep. Also the alarm clock didn’t work. Good thing I had my phone with me. I was also just trying to use it to play some music in the morning while I was jumping in the shower and getting ready.
Like I said, If you are looking for a clean place to crash and get a shower while on the road this place is great. Otherwise spend the extra money – time and check into something a little nicer.

Key West or Bust Road Trip
After a LONG day on the road I decided to check into a Drury Inn located in Bowling Green. I forgot all of the funny things you see along the side of the road while driving!
But wait I am getting ahead of myself! First I have to show you the photo of my car that i think needs a KEY WEST OR BUST bumper sticker! I fit everything in there but the kitchen sink. I even purchased a bike rack so I could bring my favorite bike and cute basket with me. I know I will get a lot of use out of my bike living in Key West since the island is only 4 miles x 2 miles.
Also I have one of the best Moms a girl can ask for! She bought all of my favorite snacks and filled my cooler!
Well since I am going to spending so much time in the car I figured I should break out some old Cd’s and sing my way to Key West … Or listen at least! I also downloaded the Audio Book version of Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks! I will say I REALLY do like the book and I have actually had a few times that I was laughing out loud!
Now I am all checked in and ready for bed! And these guys had a great idea for the soap and shampoo in the room!
Good Night! Sleep Tight – No Bed Bugs Here!
