Good Morning from St. Simons, GA
The Half Shell, At the Pier – St. Simons, GA
After a very LONG day of driving was happy to be enjoying the sunset at the pier in St, Simons, GA. My friend and I found a place called The Half Shell and we decided to eat there for dinner! Good choice! After eating an entire pound of fresh GA Shrimp as our appetizer. We finally ordered our main course. I think it was a Crab Cake kind of night! I had the Crab Cake BLT with Cheesy Grits. Yes I said Cheesy Grits, those were amazing!
Overall it was a wonderful dinner and I recommend the Grandma’s Tea made with Sweet Tea Vodka!

King and Prince Resort – St. Simons GA
Show me the SUN! I think I was kept in the Chicago weather for too long! A little sun can go a very long way with me! I am currently staying at The King and Prince resort in St. Simons, GA. I stayed here once before and everything about this cute little island is still the same! Beautiful Ocean views, Family Friendly, Coastal Living. Weather you are looking for a place to stay for a weekend getaway or somewhere to spend those cold winter months away from Old Man Winter this is the place. Located about an hour south of Savannah, GA and about 5 hours from Atlanta, GA. I personally drove from Atlanta and it was a nice drive not a lot of traffic on the road and it can be done in 1 day and get here early enough to have a nice relaxing dinner! Last time I was here I stayed in the historic main building, this time I am in a Villa that is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with a full kitchen, living room and balcony with a great view of the ocean.
The things I look for in a hotel are the small little touches that can make your stay that much more relaxing. Everything from the small little mints they leave on your pillow to having a washer and dryer and a wine bottle opener in the kitchen. You would not believe the hotels I have stayed in over the years that don’t have those things. Sometime I even throw a wine bottle opener into my suit case since I always end up buying one if the hotel doesn’t supply it. Also each room has decorative pieces there for nothing more that pure enjoyment.

Drury Inn Hotels – Bowling Green, KY
Over all this was a pretty clean hotel if you are looking for something right off the highway and just need a place to sleep. Other than that don’t expect to much … I was irritated to find that the TV remote didn’t work. Dead batteries maybe? I was to tired to care at that point and just ended up going to sleep. Also the alarm clock didn’t work. Good thing I had my phone with me. I was also just trying to use it to play some music in the morning while I was jumping in the shower and getting ready.
Like I said, If you are looking for a clean place to crash and get a shower while on the road this place is great. Otherwise spend the extra money – time and check into something a little nicer.

Happy Earth Day 2013
Scrub Daddy
I am a huge fan of the show Shark Tank and this was the first product I have actually purchased since watching the show. So why the Scrub Daddy you ask … Well I am constantly throwing away sponges because they smell, get destroyed or god knows what else! So after a week of scrubbing EVERYTHING in my house this thing looks pretty good! It even got some very old burn stains off of my favorite pan.
You can see a few brown spots left on the sponge but that is after it’s toughest scrubbing yet! My favorite pan now has a cleaner bottom than I have seen in a very long time!
My opinions are my own and I did purchase this product myself.
Samsung Google Chromebook
Last week my laptop decided to break the day before I was supposed to be at the Chicago Auto Show. Well like most people I felt like I lost my world and did know how I was going to pay for a new one that quick. I was at Best Buy looking at all on the options and I will be honest my purchase was largely based on price and what I could get for it. I had heard about the Chrome books but to be honest I was a little worried after reading all of the reviews online. So here goes my own. I will have owned this for a week now so I feel like I know how it works.
Pros: Battery Life (It’s a true 6 hours) I was very surprised!
Price $249
Small and Sleek design. (It is the same screen size as my previous laptop.)
Great for on the go or on site writing.
Cons: 15 gb hard drive
You still need a primary computer.
The operating system is different from Mac and PC. I feel like it is closer to a Mac.
Overall I think that if you are looking for a second computer to keep in the kitchen or somewhere in your house or to use for travel it is a great purchase. But by no means could this be used as your primary computer. I do still need to buy something else but this will do for now. Hence the ability to write quite a few blog posts since the auto show.

Cadillac ATS Test Drive – Chicago Auto Show
Brinley Addington Interview
Recently I had the pleasure of interviewing Brinley Addington an up and coming country singer. I went to the show he opened for Chris Young at Joe’s Bar in Chicago. I have since purchased his Homegrown album and really do like it! I hope to see him again maybe even head lining his own show! Here are some of the questions I was able to ask him:
Me: What is the hardest thing about being on the road?
Brinley: The hardest thing about being on the road is missing out on normal weekends I think. I love playing more than anything and I love traveling and seeing new places, but when you hear your friends back home are watching a ball game or hitting a movie or something, it makes you want to be home.
Me: What is the first thing you want to do when you get back from a long trip?
Brinley: A shower. Ha!
Me: What is your favorite food – on the road and something only your Mom or Grandma can make?
Brinley: On the road, I’d say Chick-Fil-A. When I’m back home, my mom makes a great spaghetti dish I really like.
Me: Can you cook? What is your favorite thing to make?
Brinley: I’m not much of a cook, but I can grill a little. Steaks are my specialty on the grill.
Me: What’s your favorite movie or movies? (I know I couldn’t pick just one)
Brinley: That’s a tough one. I love all kinds of movies. I like really deep, thought provoking movies and at the same time, really dumb, funny movies. Shawshank Redemption, Step Brothers, A Beautiful Mind, and The Green Mile are a few favorites but I can’t pick one.
Me: It’s a rainy day in Tennessee what is your favorite thing to do?
Brinley: Watch a movie or take a long nap.
Me: What is the best concert you have ever been too?
Brinley: I would say Brad Paisley’s show. I’ve seen probably five shows of Brad’s and they are consistently awesome.
Me: Who was the first person you met that you look up to in the music world?
Brinley: A songwriter named Steve Leslie was really the first Nashville person to really believe in me and gave me some great advice that I still apply to this day. Great writer and friend.
Me: How did you get to be connected with Chris Young?
Brinley: Chris and I have the same business manager and she introduced us and eventually let Chris hear some of my music and we ended up working together.
Me: Have you been promoting yourself or did you get signed to a label?
Brinley: For the past six years or so, I’ve been doing things almost completely independently.
Me: What was your favorite activity to do as a kid indoors and out?
Brinley: I’ve always loved fishing. It’s very peaceful.
Me: What advice would you give to someone who wants to have a career in music?
Brinley: To go at it with all you’ve got. It won’t happen if you’re just sitting around waiting on something to fall in your lap. And don’t take “No,” for an answer.
Me: What is your favorite song from you Homegrown album?
Brinley: Probably “As Long As You Love Me.” That one means a lot to me and a lot of people tell me they really connect to it.
Me: If you could go on a dream vacation where would you go?
Brinley: I’d like to go to Italy at some point. Just sounds like a cool place.
Me: What is your goal for 2013?
Brinley: To keep writing, recording, and performing to the best of my ability and to play for more and more people.
Thanks again to Brinley for taking the time to answer some questions. For more information about Brinley or to see his upcoming tour dates please visit his website here.
